Solo and Ensemble Festivals are held every year in the Northern Virginia area during the Spring.  These music festivals are run by the Virginia Band and Orchestra Directors Association (VBODA) and provide band and orchestra students the opportunity to perform a solo and/or an ensemble and have their performance critiqued by a professional adjudicator. 

Starting in 2016, we are providing registration and scheduling services for the following four districts:

• District 10 includes Eastern Fairfax County and Alexandria.
• District 11 includes Southern Fairfax County.
• District 12 includes Northern Fairfax County and Arlington.
• District 16 includes Loudoun County.

Schools may participate in any district if they have a scheduling conflict that precludes their participation in their home district.  Therefore, it is necessary that you check with your school's music director each year in order to determine which district applies to you.

The locations and dates of the Spring 2016 festivals are as follows:

• District 10: Mark Twain Middle School - April 21 & 23
• District 11: Irving Middle School - April 15 & 16
• District 12: Cooper Middle School - April 22 & 23
• District 16: Seneca Ridge Middle School - April 23

In 2016, District 10 will hold their Strings festival on Thursday evening and their Band festival during the day on Saturday.  Districts 11 and 12 hold their Strings festivals on Friday evening and the Band festivals during the day on Saturday. District 16 holds both festivals during the day on Saturday.
