Solo and ensemble festivals are held in northern
Virginia during the month of April. These
music festivals provide band and orchestra
students the opportunity to perform a solo
and/or an ensemble and have their performance
critiqued by an adjudicator. This website
addresses three districts:
- District 10 includes eastern Fairfax
County and Alexandria.
- District 11 includes southern Fairfax
County.
- District 12 includes northern Fairfax
County and Arlington.
Schools can participate in any district if they have a
scheduling conflict that precludes their
participation in their home district.
Therefore, it is necessary that you check with
your school's music director each year in order
to determine which district applies to you.
The locations and dates of the Spring 2009
festivals are as follows:
The strings festivals are on a Friday evening and
the band festivals are during the day on a Saturday.
